American Cancer Society
For the past four years, ENT and Allergy Associates partnered with the American Cancer Society (ACS) to promote awareness of the dangers of smoking, encourage smoking cession and to educate patients and the overall community about the benefits of prevention and early detection.
In 2009, ENTA expanded that affiliation by initiating a relationship with the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge in Manhattan. Hope Lodge is a state-of-the-art, all green facility that offers free housing to cancer patients and their caregivers while they undergo treatment in Manhattan. More specifically, ENT and Allergy and the Mount Sinai Medical Center teamed up to donate a $300,000 gift to Hope Lodge, dedicating the hearth at the center’s Great Room, where guests find warmth and communal support.
Please click here for more information on ENTA and Hope Lodge.
Please visit the American Cancer Society website for information on how to quit and other information resources.
Each Fall for the past five years, ENTA and the ACS sponsor a contest that challenges high school students to think creatively about anti-smoking. This year’s contest is to create the most effective cigarette pack warning label design. Students throughout NY and NJ will compete for a $2000 prize per state. The contest is open to all public high school students throughout New York and New Jersey and the winner in each state will receive $1,000 for themselves and $1,000 for their school. ENTA serves as the final judge of all entries. Click here for more information on the contest.
