James Gahn, MA, CCC-A, F-AAA

James Gahn holds a Bachelor of Music Ed. degree from Baldwin Wallace College and a Master of Arts degree in Audiology from Kent State University. He has held clinical Audiologist positions at the Montgomery Institute, Akron, Ohio; the Wickliffe City Schools, Wickliffe, Ohio and the Wassaic Developmental Center (NY State OMRDD) where he initiated and developed from 1970 to 1980 one of the first Audiology services for institutionalized developmentally disabled clients in the New York State Mental Retardation/Developmental Disabilities System. In 1980 he formed Professional Hearing Services, a private practice in Audiology, in Dutchess County, NY. In 2003 Mr. Gahn joined Vivatone Hearing Systems, LLC, developer of the first receiver-in-the- canal(RIC) hearing aid. In 2005 he was appointed Director of Audiology and Product Development at VHS, a position he held until 2009.

 

Besides having a specialty in the evaluation and rehabilitation of hearing impaired developmentally challenged individuals, Mr. Gahn has extensive experience in clinical evaluation of pediatric, school age children and adults including specializing in assessment and treatment of Central Auditory Processing disorders. Additionally, Mr. Gahn holds Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispenser licenses in New York. His hearing aid evaluation and fitting experience spans a 40 year career.
