Dr. Matthew J. Kates, MD, FACS is a Board Certified Otolaryngologist-Head and Neck Surgeon and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. After receiving his Medical Degree from Cornell University Medical College in 1986, Dr. Kates completed 2 years of general surgical training at St Vincent's Hospital and 3 years of otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery training through the Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital Residency program.
Dr. Kates has enjoyed private pratice in New Rochelle since 1991. He was named Chief of the Division of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery at Sound Shore Medical Center in 1997. He is also a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery, and the American Rhinological Society. He has been recognized for several years by Castle Connolly as a "New York Metro Top Doctor" and by Westchester Magazine as a "Westchester Top Doctor". He has also appeared on many local TV and radio programs.
Dr. Kates treats a wide spectrum of ear, nose and troat disorders and sees both adults and pediatric patients of all ages. He is performing the new technique of Balloon Sinuplasty and is affiliated with Sound Shore Medical Center, Lawrence Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital.
