Keeping the Bronx in the Major Leagues

ENT and Allergy Associates® Adds to its Lineup in NYC’s Northernmost Borough

Welcomes Leon Chen, MD

Tarrytown, NY—February 24th, 2014: Over 1.4 million New Yorkers call the Bronx their home, as do Van Cortlandt Park, the New York Botanical Garden, the Bronx Zoo, and, of course, the New York Yankees.

But that’s not all.

New York City’s only mainland-based borough is also the location of one of ENT and Allergy Associates’ (ENTA) busiest offices, where superb physicians from the nation’s premier ear, nose, throat, allergy, and audiology practice have been serving the needs of adults and children alike since 2003.

Starting September 1, 2014, the Bronx office will expand even further to welcome Leon Chen, MD.

Dr. Chen will join Otolaryngologists Harrison Glassman, MD; Steven Goldstein, MD; Jonathan Smith, MD; Stanley Yankelowitz, MD; Joseph Feghali, MD; and Allergists/Immunologists Jillian Hochfelder, MD and Maria Quilop, MD at the clinical site located at 1200 Waters Place Suite 110.  Dr. Chen will also be joining the office’s team of licensed audiologists, Richard Winter, Au. D., Cathy Hadeshian, M.A. and Rebecca Bieker, Au.D

Dr. Leon Chen graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and received his Doctor of Medicine from the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA. He then served as a General Surgery Intern at Beth Israel Medical Center and completed his residency of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery at the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary in New York.  He will be seeking privileges at nearby Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx.

“We measure our value to the community both in terms of the medical services we provide and our participation in neighborhood cares and concerns,” noted Stanley Yankelowitz, MD, senior partner at ENTA.  “On both counts I fully expect Dr. Chen to contribute in a big way. He offers a terrific blend of top-notch clinical education and knowledge and a strong passion for community-based care, and I am delighted to welcome him to the practice.”

Wayne Eisman, MD, President of ENTA added, “We believe Leon Chen is an excellent ear, nose, and throat surgeon gifted with both the right skills and the right passion to best serve the needs of the deserving patients of the Bronx.”

The ENTA Bronx office is located in the Hutchinson Metro Center, a multi-phased, state-of-the-art, Class A office complex.  Conveniently located off the Hutchinson River Parkway in the Pelham Bay section of the Bronx, the office is easily accessible to major highways, bus and subway service.  In addition, it is less than a mile from some of the region’s top medical institutions, and JFK and LaGuardia airports are under 30 minutes away.
