Successfully recruiting brightest prospects and expert medical talent
Tarrytown, NY – January 11th, 2011, ENT and Allergy Associates, LLP (ENTA) today introduces its latest physicians to join the group —Edward D. McCoul, M.D. and Eric Munzer, D.O., otolaryngologists. The two physicians will begin practicing summer of 2011, bringing the total number of physicians in the practice to over 115 across 35 clinical office locations. In additionto these two physicians,otolaryngologist Michael Zozzaro, M.D., willbecome a member of ENTA's Bronx, NY office as of August, 2011.
Dr. Eric Munzer, set to join ENTA’s Newburgh and Fishkill Offices, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from the State University of New York at Albany, received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, NY., and completed his residency in Otolaryngology and Facial Plastics at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, a Madison Heights, MI. medical facility of the State Wide Michigan State University Campus. He was voted Intern of the Year as well as Chief Resident for his residency program.
Dr. Munzer volunteered his services to the St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital and the World Trade Center disaster site following 9/11, where he aided in the development of response protocols for potential Bio-terrorist incidents. He also provided services to the Orange County Department of Health, and worked with multiple transplant teams in the procurement of bones, tissue and corneas for future transplantation. He has held the distinguished position of Clinical Instructor at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has also worked with Macomb County Michigan Hearing and Vision in order to provide audiologic assessments for underserved populations.
Dr. Munzer is affiliated with the American Academy of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery, the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, the American Rhinologic Society, the American Osteopathic Association and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Edward D. McCoul, who joins ENTA’s Tuckahoe and Yonkers Office, graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Notre Dame, received his Doctor of Medicine from Tulane University School of Medicine-where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society-and also holds graduate degrees in Pharmacology and Public Health from Tulane University. He completed a residency in Otolaryngology at the State University of New York-Downstate Health Sciences Center in Brooklyn, NY, and received fellowship training in Advanced Rhinology and Skull Base Surgery at Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York, NY.
Dr. McCoul has authored many research papers and has presented at national and international meetings. He holds membership in organizations such as the American Academy of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery, American Rhinologic Society and The Triological Society. He has special expertise in the use of endoscopic technology to treat diseases of the nose and sinuses, and has comprehensive training in the treatment of diseases of the ear, nose and throat, as well as head and neck surgery, in both adults and children.
Dr. Michael Zozzaro, joining ENTA’s Bronx office, is a New Jersey native who graduated from Rutgers College with a bachelors degree in Biological Sciences, received his medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in an accelerated dual BA/MD program, and went on to complete an internship in General Surgery and a residency in Otolaryngology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey (UMDNJ). He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the American Medical Association and is Board Certified by the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners.
Dr. Zozzaro, who has conducted research in the field of nasal reconstruction, sleep disordered breathing, thyroid nodules and was a member of the UMDNJ Committee of Interns and Residents, has made it a priority in his life to work with many community-based programs, such as the Homeless & Indigent Population Health Outreach Program. He speaks Spanish and was elected to the International Foreign Language Honor Society.
