About Kathleen Monet Young, Au.D

Dr. Monet Young earned her bachelor’s in communication disorders from Texas State University and her doctorate in audiology from Lamar University. At Lamar, she worked at ENT clinics, private practices and the Regional Day School Program for the Deaf. She also completed an externship in diagnostic audiometry and hearing aids at Houston ENT & Allergy and is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Dr. Monet Young’s parents, a teacher and a police officer, taught her the value of effective communication from a young age. During a high school mentoring program, Dr. Monet Young developed an interest in better communication and hearing advocacy, which led her to choose audiology as a career. She enjoys playing an active role in helping people achieve their communication goals through better hearing.

In addition, Dr. Monet Young strives to treat her patients like family, creating an environment of belonging and support. Her appreciation for the importance of connection began in San Antonio, where she grew up surrounded by a strong sense of community. Helping her patients stay connected to loved ones is Dr. Monet Young’s passion.
