About Stefan Mlot, MD, FACS

Stefan Mlot, MD, FACS, is a board-certified otolaryngologist, a fellowship-trained head and neck surgeon, and a partner at ENT and Allergy Associates, whose practice spans the treatment of head and neck cancer, thyroid and parathyroid tumors, salivary gland disorders, and obstructive sleep apnea, alongside the full spectrum of ENT care. His approach is guided by a singular commitment: delivering exceptional surgical outcomes without losing sight of quality of life and long-term survivorship. He performs surgery at both White Plains Hospital and Phelps Hospital.

At Phelps Hospital, Dr. Mlot leads as Director of Head and Neck Surgery and Director of Sleep Surgery, spearheading the hospital's surgical approach to head and neck cancer and obstructive sleep apnea. He has established himself as a regional expert in Inspire hypoglossal nerve stimulator surgery, a cutting-edge treatment reshaping how sleep apnea is managed.

Dr. Mlot's academic path began at the University of North Carolina, where he graduated summa cum laude and earned his Doctorate of Medicine. He went on to the New York Presbyterian residency program, training across three of the country's leading institutions: Columbia University Medical Center, Weill-Cornell Medical Center, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He then pursued fellowship training in head and neck surgery at the University of Miami's Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Prior to his current roles, he served as Chief of Robotic and Microvascular Surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, receiving the department's faculty teaching award.
