ENT and Allergy Associates Welcomes Benjamin DaeSoon Acker, D.O. to its Port Jefferson, NY Office!
Pediatric/Adult Otolaryngologist to Join in March 2018
Tarrytown, NY: November 7, 2017—Port Jefferson, NY is located on the North Shore of Long Island, in Suffolk County, 60 miles from New York City. It is home to a major ferry route, the Long Island Railroad and an extremely important state-of-the-art office of ENT and Allergy Associates (ENTA), the largest ear, nose, throat, allergy and audiology practice in the United States.
And today, ENTA announced it is soon to be the home of their newest otolaryngologist, Dr. Benjamin DaeSoon Acker, who will begin seeing adult and pediatric patients in Port Jefferson as of March, 2018.
Benjamin DaeSoon Acker, D.O. joins ENTA after spending three years serving patients at a respected practice in Northern New Jersey. He received his undergraduate degree at Union College in Schenectady, NY, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. He went on to earn his Master’s in Business Administration, Health Systems Administration from Union, then received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine (UMDNJ-SOM).
Dr. Acker served his internship in Otolaryngology/Facial Plastics Surgery at UMDNJ-SOM’s Kennedy Health System, followed by his residency at that same institution. He is currently board certified in Otolaryngology/Facial Plastics Surgery. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology and the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Acker was the recipient of multiple awards during medical school for academic excellence and graduated at the top of his class. He won an award during internship for teaching students, and he was also the recipient of the Patrick Murray award at the end of his residency for achieving the highest In-Service exam score in the nation out of all Osteopathic residents. He has always found it important to have a strong foundation of medical knowledge in order to provide better and evidence based patient care.
Dr. Acker will be moving to Port Jefferson with his wife and starting with ENTA during the first quarter of 2018. He will care for both adult and pediatric patients with problems in all aspects of ENT. He has special interest in treating patients with chronic nasal and sinus problems, including procedures to treat chronic nasal airway obstruction and chronic sinusitis.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Acker enjoys fitness, the outdoors, and spending time with his wife and family.
At ENTA’s spacious Port Jefferson office, located at 1500 Route 112, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776, offers patients multiple exam rooms, an allergy suite and the convenience of same day appointments. Dr. Acker will be joining a distinguished veteran team of superior physicians who currently serve the needs of that village and surrounding communities.
