ENT and Allergy Associates Welcomes Fellowship Trained Pediatric Otolaryngologist Joseph Michael Bernstein, MD

Nationally Renowned, Veteran Clinician Expected to Begin Seeing Patients As of September 1, 2018 in ENTA’s New Rochelle and E. 48th St. Offices

 

Tarrytown, NY: – July 10, 2018 – ENT and Allergy Associates (ENTA), the nation’s preeminent otolaryngology specialty and sub-specialty practice, today proudly announced that Dr. Joseph Bernstein-a fellowship trained pediatric otolaryngologist- will join the group as of September 1, 2018. Dr. Bernstein will begin serving patients in ENTA’s New Rochelle office in Westchester (located at 145 Huguenot Street, Suite 610, New Rochelle, NY) on Fridays and in the practice’s Grand Central Station office in Manhattan (located at 18 East 48th Street, 2nd Floor, New York, NY)on Mondays. In mid- 2019, he will move to the New Rochelle office on a fulltime basis.  With his joinder, ENTA will provide patients with the services of six pediatric fellowship trained physicians across its substantial New York/New Jersey footprint, the largest such concentration of pediatric otolaryngologic expertise anywhere in the nation.

Joseph Bernstein, MD graduated from Columbia University with honors and earned his medical degree from New York University.  He remained at NYU for his residency training in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, then completed a Pediatric Otolaryngology fellowship at Baylor's Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. Dr. Bernstein returned to New York University Medical Center as a full-time faculty member and the Director of Pediatric Otolaryngology, with appointments in their Departments of Otolaryngology, Pediatrics, and Plastic Surgery. More recently, he was an Associate Professor at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and a member of the faculty at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai. He held the positions of Chief of the Pediatric Otolaryngology Division for the Mount Sinai Health System and the Program Director of the Otolaryngology Residency. Dr. Bernstein's practice spans the entire spectrum of pediatric otolaryngology with special interests in congenital malformations, sleep apnea, sinusitis and other common ENT infections. He is a recognized expert in the evaluation and management of children with craniofacial and cleft anomalies, and has authored numerous articles, received various awards, and has lectured nationally and internationally.  Dr. Bernstein is licensed by NY State and the American Board of Otolaryngology, and holds memberships in the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AAO - NHS), the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Cleft Palate/Craniofacial Association and the Society of University Otolaryngologists. Doctor Joey, as he is affectionately known to his patients, practices patient- and family-centered care and believes in shared decision-making between patients, families, and physicians in order to arrive at the best care plan for a child.

At ENTA’s spacious, state-of-the-art New Rochelle office, Dr. Bernstein will join fellow otolaryngologists Mark L. Fox, M.D., F.A.C.S.Paul Gittelman, M.D., F.A.C.SJeffrey H. Jablon, M.D., F.A.C.S.,Matthew J. Kates, M.D., F.A.C.S.Derek Soohoo, M.D., F.A.C.S. and Irene Yu, M.D. as well as allergist Anastasiya Kleva, M.D.  At ENTA’s new E. 48th St. location, just blocks from Grand Central Station, Dr. Bernstein will team up with renowned otolaryngology sub-specialists Jonathan Aviv, M.D., F.A.C.S. (laryngology), Sujana S. Chandrasekhar, M.D. (otology/Neurotology), Ofer Jacobowitz, M.D., Ph.D., F.A.A.S.M., F.A.A.O.A. (sleep medicine) and Jason A. Moche, M.D., F.A.C.S. (facial plastics) and allergist Jamie Kiehm, MD. In addition, Otolaryngologist Jason M. Abramowitz, MD joined the E. 48th St. office on July 1, adding to the superb clinical team.
