ENT and Allergy Associates® Expands in a Very Good Way Adds Veteran Otolaryngologist Mark D. Very, MD to its Poughkeepsie Office

Tarrytown, NY: June 23rd, 2014—ENT and Allergy Associates, LLP (ENTA), the nation’s premier ear, nose, throat, allergy, and audiology Practice, believes the residents of Dutchess and Ulster Counties deserve the best medical care possible. That’s why over the past two years, ENTA has significantly increased its reach and upgraded its presence in this important region of New York State.  In 2012, the Practice relocated its Poughkeepsie office to an expanded, state-of-the-art clinical facility at 21 Reade Place. Shortly after that, it added Otolaryngologist Hector Rodriguez, MD, FACS to the office to better serve the growing number of deserving patients.

But it hasn’t stopped there.

Today, ENTA announced another superb addition to its Poughkeepsie office.

Beginning October 1st, veteran Otolaryngologist Mark D. Very, MD, currently serving patients at Northern Dutchess ENT, will join the Practice as a Partner.

Dr. Mark D. Very, MD received his Medical Degree from Albany Medical College where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and was honored with the Dean’s Research Award. He then went on to complete both his internship in General Surgery and residency in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine, where he served as an assistant clinical instructor as well as an instructor of Head and Neck Anatomy.

Dr. Very has long served the otolaryngologic needs of both adult and pediatric patients in the Mid-Hudson Valley area, with particular expertise in the areas of pediatrics, endoscopic sinus surgery, and surgical disorders of the thyroid and parathyroid glands. He is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. Dr. Very is married to a family practice physician and they have two children. In his free time, he enjoys singing, music composition, golf, and most other sports.

AT ENTA’s Poughkeepsie office, Dr. Very will complement the existing roster of fellow otolaryngologists Ryan Borress, MD; Jason P. Cohen, MD; Rami Payman, MD; Hector P. Rodriguez, MD, FACS; and Allergist/Immunologist Michael Hugh, MD. These superb physicians work alongside audiologists Amanda Sullivan, Au.D. and Kelle Harrison, MS, forming a clinical team which provides the full range of clinical otolaryngology and allergy services including head and neck, thyroid and parathyroid, ear and balance disorders, adult nasal and sinus, environmental and food allergy issues, as well as pediatric ear, nose, and throat services.  The audiology team is one of the most robust in the Mid-Hudson Valley, equipped with all the clinical tools needed to help those with hearing health issues.

"I am proud and delighted to be joining ENT and Allergy Associates," commented Dr. Very, "and adding my expertise and experience to their own. I am confident that having ENTA's depth and breadth of resources available will allow me to continue providing exceptional care to my valued patients”.

Otolaryngologist/Head and Neck Surgeon Jason Cohen, MD, a partner at the Poughkeepsie office, noted, “Dr. Very’s addition to our Practice will most certainly result in an immediate and substantive benefit to our patients as well as all residents of Dutchess and Ulster Counties”.  Added Neurotologist and fellow partner Rami Payman, MD, “Mark Very has been a respected colleague in the region for years. I’m delighted to now call him my partner”.

ENTA President Robert P. Green, MD, FACS stated, “Our highest priority is to identify and attract the best and the brightest physicians to become a member of our Practice. In Mark Very we have found someone who meets that standard. I wholeheartedly welcome him aboard”.

Dr. Very also wishes to express his gratitude to Dr. Nader Kayal at Northern Dutchess ENT, LLC for his continued support and friendship, stating "It has been an honor and privilege to work with Nader over the years in our mutual effort to provide our patients with the best possible care".
