Arthur Schwacke Honored by The Fairfield and Westchester Business Journals
Tarrytown, NY—October 7th, 2013: A medical practice with the size (over 140 physicians) and scope (40 clinical offices throughout NY and NJ providing ear, nose, throat, allergy, audiology and sleep care) of ENT and Allergy Associates (ENTA) has long recognized the utter importance of having the finest senior managers possible.
And now, for one of those managers-ENTA’s Chief Financial Officer Arthur Schwacke-that recognition is also coming from The Fairfield and Westchester Business Journals…in the form of a nomination as CFO of the Year!
Mr. Schwacke, who joined the Practice 15 years ago when it was a modest grouping of eight offices and 20 doctors, has been instrumental in helping ENTA maintain superb financial health and hygiene as it continues to expand its footprint and provide superior medical care to more and more patients throughout the Greater New York area. During the past 5 years alone, his efforts have helped secure over $32 million in bank financing to fund that expansion. He is also a co-founder of OASIS – the risk retention group started by the Practice in 2009 to insure its medical malpractice risk. In addition to being responsible for the financial operations of the Practice, Mr. Schwacke also oversees the MIS and Payments Processing Departments.
Arthur Schwacke joined ENT and Allergy Associates, LLP in October 1998. During his tenure, ENT and Allergy has grown into the largest and one of the most highly respected Otolaryngology and Allergy practices in the United States, currently with 145 physicians practicing in 40 state-of-the-art clinical locations. During the past 5 years, his efforts have secured over $32 million in bank financing to fund group expansion, during which time the group has transitioned to a self-insured health plan, introduced its electronic health record and web portal, implemented an electronic purchasing system and provided a new defined benefits program for the partners. Mr. Schwacke has direct responsibility for central billing office operations, information technology, accounting, finance, taxes, budgets and forecasting, and managing the group’s banking relationships. He is an ad hoc member of the Board’s Finance, IT and Managed Care Contracting Committees. Mr. Schwacke is also a co-founder of OASIS – the risk retention group started by the practice in 2009 to insure its medical malpractice risk. He currently serves as Treasurer for OASIS and is a member of the Subscriber Advisory Committee. He is a graduate of Rutgers University and a Certified Public Accountant with memberships in the AICPA, New Jersey Society of CPAs, MGMA, AOA and AOA Large Group Forum.
