ENT AND ALLERGY ASSOCIATES® VOICE AND SWALLOWING CENTER PUBLISHES ITS FIRST SELF-HELP BOOK
Tarrytown—April 8th, 2014: As the leading and most renowned ear, nose, throat, allergy, and audiology practice in the nation, the physicians of ENT and Allergy Associates, LLP (ENTA) have over the years, published numerous scientific papers related to diseases of the ear, nose, throat, sinuses, neck, and allergies—designed solely for other physicians and the medical community. However, given increased patient expectations and demands to access valuable medical information directly, for the first time, an ENTA clinician is reaching out straight to the public.
Specifically, ENTA announced today that Dr. Jonathan Aviv, MD, FACS, the clinical director of the Practice’s Voice and Swallowing Center has just published a self-help book on acid reflux disease called Killing Me Softly From Inside, available at Amazon.com.
The physicians of the Voice and Swallowing Center, Drs. Jonathan Aviv, David Godin, Jared Wasserman, Farhad Chowdhury, Joel Portnoy, and Ajay Chitkara, are among the leading authorities on the diagnosis and treatment of acid reflux disease, cough, and voice and swallowing disorders. Dr. Aviv draws upon his decades of medical experience, both in and out of the operating room, to bring forward the real story of acid reflux disease and its potentially devastating impact on the general public. He meticulously connects the extremely acidic, highly processed "food" Westerners eat, to acid reflux disease and ultimately esophageal cancer.
Killing Me Softly From Inside provides readers with a solution called “The Acid Watcher® Diet”, a unique dietary program that combines low acid foods with the three macronutrients and a high fiber component, to make delicious, healthy meals. The program contains easy to follow recipes and meal plans to keep one’s body acid-free while maintaining excellent health for years to come.
David Godin, MD, Associate Director of the Voice and Swallowing Center commented, “So many of our patients have been asking us for dietary solutions for their acid reflux complaints, and now we have a straightforward, user friendly guide that will help us help them.”
Added Bob Glazer, Chief Executive Officer of ENTA, “The expertise of our physicians and the resources of our Practice place us in a unique position to help both our patients and the public at large. Dr. Aviv’s book is a terrific example of how we do it.”
