This gentleman had longstanding history of difficulty breathing through his nose. You can see how narrow and pinched his tip and nostrils are causing nasal obstruction. He underwent an open rhinoplasty for functional (breathing) reasons to reconfigure his nasal cartilages and add support to his nose. Postoperatively, his nose is much more open and his breathing has markedly improved. Given the architectural dictum that form follows function, his nasal reconstruction both improved his breathing and made his nose look more natural.
