6 Important Things ENT and Allergy Associates (ENTA) can do to Help to Improve your Hearing

Are you suffering from hearing loss? Dizziness? Tinnitus? Discomfort? Your Ears Nose and Throat Specialist (ENT) along with your audiologist can diagnose, manage and treat your  hearing problems for the newborns, adults and children.

This blog discusses about 6 things your hearing team at ENTA may help with!

  1. Wax removal – If you are suffering from dizziness, tinnitus, hearing loss or ear pain, it may just be wax. It is recommended that you see an ENT to get the wax removed. The audiologist will then test your hearing to determine there are no other concurrent or residual issues.
  2. Provide expert advice – Do you experience any kind of hearing problems? If yes, then ENTA is the right spot to go. The ENT will determine if there is medical treatment for your issue.  The audiologist will provide all kinds of services such as hearing loss, tinnitus, communication problems, hearing aids, hearing tests and hearing protection.
  3. Help with tinnitus – If you have tinnitus, then ENTA’s team approach is here to help! The audiologist will need to conduct complete audiological and the ENT will conduct a medical evaluation to know if you are suffering from the underlying diseases. These underlying problems include – exposure to noise, blood pressure, allergies or emotional stress. If the underlying cause cannot be treated medically, the audiologist can help by providing you coping strategies, masking techniques or hearing aids.
  4. Provide advice on available products – Several products are there for loss of hearing, tinnitus and hearing protection. In this situation, you may discuss about all possible options available with the hearing professional and he will suggest the right one for your need. Since everyone is unique, they might not be same size fit for everyone. It might take some time to search for a suitable product, but an audiologist can help throughout the process.
  5. Fit hearing aids properly – Your audiologist will give advice in choosing and fitting the right hearing aid so that you can hear properly. Depending on the hearing test results, an audiologist will plan and fit a hearing aid which is most appropriate for you. Hence, the hearing aid needs to be programmed in a way so that it matches with your loss of hearing. After this, follow up appointments need to be scheduled in order to ensure the hearing aid fit and sound comfortable so you can hear at your best!
  6. Hearing tests – An audiologist will perform a necessary hearing test. This audiogram is a graphic representation of the results obtained while performing a hearing test. Each ear is presented with different tones and there will be a mark placed on the audiogram during the hearing test where the sound becomes audible, which is known as the threshold. The audiologist will review your hearing test with you so you have a better understanding of your hearing.

If you are experiencing any ear related issues, it is advised to make an appointment at ENT and Allergy Associates. Our ENTs and audiologists work closely together to ensure the best hearing healthcare for you and your family!
