FAQ

How do I know if plastic surgery is right for me?

There are several factors to consider when deciding whether to have plastic surgery or not. The most important is your health. If you are in good health, the risk of complications and the recovery time are reduced. You should also consider your motivations and expectations for surgery. These should be discussed with the doctor during your initial consultation.

What happens during a consultation?

During your consultation, you and the doctor will discuss your desired changes and expectations, review your medical history, and together decide whether the procedure is right for you. You should ask questions about the procedure, recovery, outcome and possible complications so you will know what to expect. The results that can be achieved will be discussed and photos taken. Dr. Brys employs the latest technology, beginning with computer imaging analysis during your detailed cosmetic surgery consultation, and provides the options that are best suited for your particular needs.

Can I have more than one procedure done at the same time?

It is common to have multiple procedures during one operation. Often, the outcome of one procedure will be greatly enhanced by having another. In addition, having multiple procedures done at one time saves you from having to pay operating costs and anesthesia services more than once. The decision to have multiple procedures done depends on which procedures are being done, the extent of surgery, the operating time, and your age and overall health.

How long is the recovery after cosmetic surgery?

The recovery after most cosmetic surgical procedures varies from 3 to 5 days for small procedures such as eyelid lifts, to 2 to 3 weeks for larger procedures such as face lifts. Bruises typically disappear within two weeks. Swelling will take a while to disappear completely. Your health, age, and whether multiple procedures were done also affect the length of recovery. It is best to discuss the specific estimate of recovery with Dr. Brys for your procedure at the time of your initial consultation.

Is there a consultation fee to meet with Dr. Brys?

Yes, there is a consultation fee of $100. This fee is applied to your surgical fee should you proceed with your cosmetic surgery.

Will my insurance cover surgery?

Health insurance providers generally cover costs for reconstructive and functional surgery but not for cosmetic surgery. If your surgery is covered by insurance, pre-certification is required. We will be happy to assist you with the process.

Does the practice offer financing?

Yes, the practice offers financing with approved credit. When you come in for a cosmetic surgery consultation our office staff can assist you in applying for financing.
