ENT and Allergy Associates Welcomes Melin Tan-Geller, M.D. to its Ranks
Esteemed Laryngologist and Accomplished Musician to Join New White Plains Office in August 2018
Tarrytown, NY –March 26, 2018: ENT and Allergy Associates (ENTA) today proudly announced that Melin Tan-Geller, MD, will be joining the Practice’s White Plains office as of August 1, 2018. At that time, the White Plains office will be in its new spacious state-of-the-art site at 222 Bloomingdale Road, White Plains, New York.
Dr. Melin Tan-Geller, who was raised in New Jersey and now lives in Katonah, NY, is a highly renowned laryngologist. She earned her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University’s School of Music in Evanston, Illinois and her Master’s from the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. This accomplished musician, whose final public concert was at New York’s famed Carnegie Hall, then switched to the study of medicine, following in the footsteps of both of her physician parents. She attended New York University’s Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical Program in New York City, then earned her medical degree from Boston University’s School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts.
After graduation, Dr. Tan-Geller served her General Surgery Internship at Saint Vincent’s Hospital, her Otolaryngology Residence at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary (where she stood as Administrative Chief Resident Otolaryngology) and received her Laryngology Fellowship from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine Department of Otolaryngology, all in New York City.
She has spent nearly eight years at the Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, as Assistant Professor of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Associate Professor of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Adjunct Professor Yeshiva University Speech Language Pathology Master’s Program.
Dr. Tan-Geller is board certified in New York by the American Board of Otolaryngology, and has been honored numerous times, including being named an Albert Schweitzer Fellowship Recipient and recognized for Outstanding Contributions to the Office of Student Affairs Boston University School of Medicine, the Austen T. Grey Memorial Scholarship, New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and as Teacher of the Year from the Department of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Montefiore Medical Center. Her professional memberships include the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery; the American Laryngological Association, the New York Laryngological Society, the American Broncho-Esophageal Association and she is a member candidate for the Triological Society.
Wayne Eisman, MD, senior partner at ENTA’s White Plains office, commented, “Melin Tan-Geller is truly a medical star.
