Better Hearing & Speech Month

Did you know that May is Better Hearing and Speech Month? Every May, the American Speech-Language Hearing Association raises awareness about hearing and communication by celebrating Better Hearing and Speech Month (BHSM). The theme for 2022 is, “Connecting People.” Hearing and communication are vital ways we experience the world and connect with the people we love. For many, communication is difficult because of hearing loss or speech conditions. In fact, more than 48 million people in the U.S. experience some degree of hearing loss, and 1 in 10 Americans have some type of communication disorder.

Hearing health is vital, that’s why it is so important to take care of your hearing now and for the future. It’s recommended to have your hearing checked regularly, just as you visit a doctor every year or go to the dentist on a regular basis.

Our Licensed Audiologists, who work together with our board-certified Otolaryngologists, can test your hearing and identify any changes in your hearing ability. The more quickly changes in hearing are detected, the more proactive you can be.

So be proactive during Better Hearing and Speech Month and take care of your hearing health today!

Ask yourself the questions below to find out if you should have a hearing test:
