A burning sensation in the throat and mouth can come from a variety of different sources. The most common sources are acid reflux disease, infection (including fungal), and allergies. Nerve injury can also cause burning in these areas. To diagnose the source of the burning both a through physical examination of the head and neck and often an examination of the nose and throat with a camera are necessary.
