Signs of Sleep Apnea
What is sleep apnea? Try conducting a sleep study quiz on yourself.
Take a look at the list below, and see how many of the statements apply to you:
- I snore
- I wake up tired
- I wake up gasping
- I wake up with a sore throat
- I frequently wake up to use the bathroom
- It is hard for me to stay awake while driving
- I have fallen asleep while laughing or crying
- I wake up with pain and numbness in my legs
- I have difficulty falling asleep or remaining asleep
- I have been told that I stop breathing while I sleep
If two or more of the statements above apply to you, this may indicate a serious sleep disorder. Please consult your physician today regarding a diagnostic sleep study. Our New Jersey and New York ENT doctors will help you find the sleep apnea treatment that works for you.

"This is the first time I visited there, my friend has referred Dr. Steven, but it's too early to judge, but I must say, Dr. Steven seems to be patient, and thorough and the other staff was very friendly and welcoming. I am hoping my son would overcome his sleep apnea problem."

"Dr Edelman is a good doctor, who is very thorough. We discussed all of my symptoms before the exam, of which there were many. He found severe reflux changes of my larynx and inflammation of my vocal cords, due to prolonged acid reflux. He immediately started me on a strict diet regimen, proton pump inhibitors twice daily, in addition to a tablespoon of liquid antacid half hour before bed, and sleeping with a 6wedge to prevent lying flat. He made sure I understood the importance of following the detailed instructions and the follow-up visit in 8 weeks. I did/do, and I'm looking forward to seeing him again in a few weeks."
